Itchen Navigation Pub Walk
Start Woodmill, Southampton
Our annual stroll along the old Itchen Navigation towpath, calling in on a few pubs on the way. Depart from
Woodmill Bridge, Southampton at 9.30am, reaching Winchester around 3 to 3.30pm. The Black Boy is open again on
Monday afternoons so that is an option, but for the last two years we have been going to the Queen Inn so we may
well stick with that. Possibly we'll go on to other pubs; you can always phone to find out where we are. Later on
we usually finish off with a curry somewhere.
Join us en route if you like - we expect to be at Steam Town, Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh at 11am*,
and the Bridge, Shawford around 1.30pm. Please note that departure is at 9.30am. Steam Town is a pub and brewery that opened November 2017 and has
quickly found much favour in Eastleigh, and it's on our route - just turn left, not right, at Bishopstoke Road!
*Steam Town very kindly opened early for us at 11am last year, and we hope will do so again, so if joining
us at Eastleigh then Steam Town at 11am is the place to be.
